BASELINE WANDERING

This concept is used in digital encoding.Actually when a data signal is transmitted it is encoded with different encoding techniques.When the data is recieved by the reciever then the signal is decoded.While decoding the decoder uses baselining concept to identify the high and low logic.The reciever calculates a running average of the recieved signal power.this average power is known as the baseline.A long string of 0s and 1s can cause a drift in the baseline(baseline wandering) and make it difficult for the reciever to decode the signal.Hence a good coding technique is one which does not allow a continuous string of 0s and 1s.
