Can Ya Hear ME???

Had I known about this project (buztalk), It would have been definitely different. I was also thinking of such a site but you people have implemented it before I could start with mine.

Anyways...I'm happy to be a user..

But I have some suggestions..
1) Use smf instead of phpbb
It's much better in terms of support, stablity & integration with other CMS/Forums

2) Buy a Domain Name
I guess 1000 bucks a year won't be a problem for CSF

Where were you hiding all this time! We were searching for people that could be brought under this forum. As you might have heard - we have planned this forum with the sole intention of sharing knowledge among students, so your inputs as post, comments and suggestions are very valuable to us.

And yes you don't need to be just a user! you can be a moderator at the forum too!

I have gone through your posts and seen that you seem to have a lot of interest in Linux, Python.... opensource in general. If you are willing to moderate these sections and post contents on these atleast once in a week, we at Buzztalk will be more than pleased to create such sections for you.
We consulted quite a few people before we went for phpbb to host this forum. In any case migration of the forum to smf now will be a tedious process.
You talked about getting a domain name for the forum, that too on CSF money - that is somthing that we don't want to do. As you must have heard when we announced the launch in the Linux seminar (I am pretty sure you were there - we announced at a few more places than that) we want to keep this forum independent from the College Bureaucracy which would only be possible without involving their money.

P.S. : You often post in the wrong sections. Topics that are uneducational like photos are to be put in the "Idle thoughts" forum. Similarly, a suggestion like this needs to be put up in....well.....the suggestion section.

It is really good to hav such forum but still wht i think we make it universal..
so wht u think..
secondly i feel demonstrations are required for getting exact idea behind Forum in other engg. colleges like SKN...
Let's start..

We already have thought about taking the forum to other colleges even outside the Sinhgad Circuit but what will we show them? An empty forum? We will have to build it to some acceptable level only then can we do that.

Why not use Google Adsense to generate some revenue...

no need to clutter the forum with ads.
We need some mods who r highly efficient. i just find 3-4 guys who post regularly. Even in mods, except tridiv and anand, other mods aren't even visiting the forum.

i totally agree on this..we should first concentrate on the forum itself instead of searching for the ads.
